ENCATC Research Award
Launched in 2014, this prestigious recognition aims to stimulate academic research in the field of cultural management and policy with an emphasis on its applied implications. The ENCATC Award also has the ambition to contribute to the process of creating a network of scholars who are competent in doing ground-breaking research projects in cultural policy and cultural management.
On 9 July 2024, ENCATC announced the finalists for the 2024 edition:
- Jordi Sanjuán Belda for his PhD “Cultural and Creative Industries and the Well-Being of Regions” obtained from the University of Valencia.
- João Leiva Filho for his PhD “Fifty years measuring cultural engagement: contributions, gaps and the future of survey” obtained from Goldsmiths, University of London.
The recipient of the 11th edition of the Award will be announced on 19 September 2024, in the frame of the 2024 ENCATC Congress. The winner will have his/her work published in the form of a book inside the ENCATC Advances in Cultural
Management and Policy, published by Routledge, the world’s leading academic publisher in the Humanities,
Social Sciences and STEM.

ENCATC Best Research Paper Award
All full papers submitted as per the deadline stated in the call may be published in the Congress e-book of proceedings. One of them will be selected for the Best Research Paper Research Award, which includes the publication of the paper in the European Journal of Cultural Management and Policy (EJCMP) now published in full Open Access (OA) by leading publisher Frontiers, with fully waived Article Processing Charges (APCs). Any other papers presented at the Education and Research Session may also be considered for publication in the EJCMP, and a special issue of the journal on the topic of the Congress will be organised.
