Best Research Paper Award
Established in 2019, the ENCATC Best Research Paper Award recognises outstanding scholarly contributions published in the Book of Proceedings of the ENCATC Congress. The Award reflects ENCATC’s long-standing commitment to fostering debate, generating new perspectives and supporting research that can contribute to the development of cultural policies and professional practice.
Presented annually, the Award celebrates research that demonstrates academic rigour, originality and relevance to contemporary challenges in cultural management and cultural policy. It aims to encourage high-quality research, foster new perspectives and contribute to international debate on issues shaping the cultural and creative sectors.
The winning paper is published in the European Journal of Cultural Management and Policy (EJCMP), with the Article Processing Charge waived for the author. Published in full Open Access by Frontiers, the journal offers the laureate an international platform to disseminate their research.

The Award provides international visibility and recognition for high-quality research in the field of cultural management and policy. By highlighting research that combines academic excellence with relevance to current challenges, it encourages researchers to contribute to ongoing discussions in cultural management and cultural policy.
The Award also creates an opportunity for the winning research to reach a wider academic and professional audience through publication, extending its impact beyond the Congress and contributing to the development of knowledge in the field.
The award includes a grant from ENCATC to support the publication of the winning paper in our European Journal of Cultural Management and Policy (EJCMP). The journal is published in full Open Access by Frontiers, with fully waived Article Processing Charges (APCs) for the winning paper. This provides the laureate with an opportunity to disseminate their research widely and make their work accessible to the international research community.
The Award is open to eligible authors whose full research papers are included in the Book of Proceedings of the ENCATC Congress, in accordance with the requirements and procedures established for each Congress edition.
