Jana Konstantinova
Jana Konstantinova for her PhD “A Third Way Alternative; Critical Assessments from the Model of the Yugoslav City“, defended at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland.
Jana Konstantinova is a Swiss-based researcher and architect. After her graduation in Architecture and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Skopje, she obtained her Ph.D. at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne. Fascinated by the ‘rich’ spatial, cultural and artistic qualities of the Yugoslav cities [timeframe the 1960s-1990s] she had studied Cultural Led Development they have promoted. From it she grasped original cultural strategies, innovation and vocabulary and entire counter Creative Model which is human-centered. She took involvement in several international exhibitions and venues such as Venice Architectural Biennale (IT), Thessaloniki International Biennale (GR), and Lisbon International Triennale (PO). Her essays are published in revue Tracés (Lausanne), Arhi.tek (Skopje), and Domus. Jana’s work has been shared with the audience internationally, for instance as Keynote at the Creative Forum Ljubljana, lectures in schools such as Angewandte Vienna and EPF in Lausanne. Recently she has realized the research exhibition Civic City [www.civiccity.co] in the Contemporary Art Museum, Skopje, North Macedonia.
YouYou Yu
YouYou Yu for her PhD “Research on the Crisis Management of Art World Based on the Perspective of Social Network“, defended at Peking University, China.
Youyou (Ruby) Yu got her Ph.D. in Arts theory with a concentration in Arts Management and Cultural Industries at Peking University (China) in 2022. The sudden outbreak of COVID-19 drew her attention to the emerging academic field of crisis management in the arts and culture and made it her doctoral research topic. During her doctoral study, she served as an adjunct faculty and Visiting Scholar at New York University (NYU) and taught two courses “Environment of Arts Administration” and “Creative and Cultural Industries” for both Performing and Visual Arts Administration programs. So far, Ms. Yu has published several papers in important Chinese academic journals and presented at several international arts administration and cultural policy conferences around the world.
Ms. Yu earned a master’s degree in Art Management and Cultural and Creative Industries from Beijing Dance Academy, where she worked for three years as a senior teaching fellow and Chinese dance instructor in the School of Graded Examination. In 2011, she founded her own dance company, Nanjing Art Impression PR Design Co., Ltd. Working as a choreographer and agent, her professional experiences inspired her to pursue academic research on cultural and arts management, especially with a focus on audience development.
