Jana Konstantinova
Jana Konstantinova was selected as a 2022 ENCATC Research Award finalist for her PhD “A Third Way Alternative; Critical Assessments from the Model of the Yugoslav City“, defended at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland.
Jana Konstantinova is an architect, urbanist and researcher whose interdisciplinary work connects urban studies, cultural infrastructure, development and governance. She studied Architecture and Urban Planning at the Faculty of Architecture in Skopje before completing her PhD at EPFL in 2021. Her doctoral research examined the cultural infrastructure of Skopje, Belgrade and Sarajevo and explored Yugoslavia as a distinctive model of cultural and urban development.
She has participated in international architectural and cultural exhibitions and presented her research at institutions including EPFL and the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Her work has also appeared in publications including Domus and Tracés.
Today, Konstantinova teaches International Cooperation and Development at the Geneva School of Diplomacy and is Founder and CEO of People's Infrastructure, where she works on sustainable infrastructure finance and community-led development.
YouYou Yu
YouYou (Ruby) Yu was selected as a finalist for the 2022 ENCATC Research Award on Cultural Policy and Cultural Management for her PhD thesis, “Research on the Crisis Management of Art World Based on the Perspective of Social Network,” defended at Peking University, China.
YouYou (Ruby) Yu is a scholar, educator and practitioner specialising in arts management, cultural industries and audience development. She holds a PhD in Arts Theory, with a concentration in Arts Management and Cultural Industries, from Peking University, and a Master’s degree in Art Management and Cultural and Creative Industries from Beijing Dance Academy.
She has taught and conducted research at New York University, where she has served as a Visiting Assistant Professor in Performing Arts Administration and previously as a visiting scholar. Her research interests include crisis management and resilience in the arts, art communication, audience development and cultural access. In 2022, she developed arts workshops and outreach projects in rural Beijing, promoting access to culture, cultural justice, rural revitalisation and creative placemaking.
Yu regularly contributes to international arts-management conferences and research networks. Her recent work has explored resilience, innovation and new approaches to arts and cultural leadership.
