2024 ENCATC Research Award
Lecce, ItalyThe 11th ENCATC Research Award Ceremony took place in Lecce on 19 September 2024, during the 32nd ENCATC Congress, bringing together an international community of academics, researchers, cultural professionals and policymakers.
Two finalists presented their doctoral research to the international jury and audience: João Oswaldo Leiva Filho, Goldsmiths, University of London, for Fifty Years Measuring Cultural Engagement: Contributions, Gaps and the Future of Survey, and Jordi Sanjuán Belda, University of Valencia, for Cultural and Creative Industries and the Well-being of Regions.
The 2024 Award was won by João Oswaldo Leiva Filho, a Brazilian researcher and cultural entrepreneur, for his above-mentioned PhD thesis, defended at Goldsmiths, University of London.
ENCATC President, Gerald Lidstone, introduced the session, while Secretary General GiannaLia Cogliandro Beyens closed the ceremony.
The 2024 ceremony reinforced the Award’s contribution to international visibility and career development for emerging researchers, while connecting research, policy and practice and fostering international knowledge exchange for cultural management and cultural policy in Europe and beyond.
