Jordi Sanjuán Belda
Jordi Sanjuán Belda was selected as a finalist for the 2024 ENCATC Research Award for his Doctoral Thesis, "Cultural and Creative Industries and the Well-being of Regions”, defended at the University of Valencia, Spain.
Jordi Sanjuán Belda is an economist, researcher and academic specialising in cultural economics, cultural and creative industries and regional wellbeing. He holds a degree in Economics, a Master’s in Economic Policy and Public Economics and a PhD in Social Sciences from the University of Valencia, as well as a professional certificate in Data Science from Harvard University. He is currently Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valencia and a member of its Econcult research unit.
His research examines the economic, social and territorial impacts of cultural and creative industries, combining cultural economics with quantitative and data-driven methods. He has participated in European research projects including MESOC and Measuring CCS and has worked as a cultural economics consultant at Culturalink and as a quantitative analyst at the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre. His research has also received the 2024 SGAE Foundation Research Award for best doctoral thesis in culture.
