Rebecca Amsellem
Dr. Rebecca Amsellem was the winner of the 2017 ENCATC Research Award on Cultural Policy and Cultural Management for her PhD thesis, “The international strategies of museums and their new business models,” defended at Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne in France.
Rebecca Amsellem has a PhD in economics and specialised in innovative business models in the museum field from Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. She is also a lecturer at Sciences Po in Paris, and at IESA business school. She previously worked at the Musée des Arts et Métiers in Paris, the Forum d’Avignon, CNAM and collaborated with the Victoria&Albert Museum in London.
Following her doctoral research, Amsellem continued to combine research, cultural entrepreneurship and public engagement. She became the founder of Les Glorieuses, an initiative focused on feminist issues and public debate in France, which aims at empowering women through various topics. Les Glorieuses is also an organization also raises awareness about crucial issues such as the pay gap with #7novembre17h34, women experts in the media… For the French presidential elections, she launched #LesFemmesOntLePouvoir an empowering plateform which analyzes what the candidates did for or against women’s rights and encourages civic participation in the debates on women’s rights.
