This session will explore the ongoing approach of funders, i.e. philanthropy institutions and public bodies, towards cultural adaptation strategies to mitigate climate change impacts on CCS. The session will be about both European and global funders and will also touch upon artistic practices addressing environmental urgencies. It will also provide an overview of funders' inner transformation towards a climate-neutral position and advocacy actions to catalyze positive ecological changes.

Through insights from current research on UNESCO sites, this session will explore the challenges of practicing sustainability in heritage settings. By proposing a framework of management processes – from planning to controlling, through organizing and leading for sustainability – the session will discuss the conditions to make sustainability a practice in cultural organizations.
