ENCATC Trainee: October - December 2017
Nationality: American
Communication Trainee
ENCATC really taught me a lot about professionalism and how to interact with people in an office space, which is something I did not have a lot of experience with before. Despite this, everyone was so open and friendly and sincerely wanted to help me whenever I had questions or concerns. My favorite part of the whole experience was when the first PRAXIS I ever created went out and my name was on it because it felt like the most amazing thing to be mentioned in such an important publication for students. This, combined with the opportunities to go to consulates for workshops and connect with professionals in the cultural sector in order to conduct interviews, really created a lot of opportunity and knowledge going forward in my future career, whatever that may be. Despite not having done much in communications before, it still felt like the perfect fit for my interests. There was the added bonus of being able to speak French as well, so as a student of French this was an amazing experience all around. I am so thankful for my time with ENCATC and being able to meet and work with amazing people.
