Maria Camila Montalvo-Senior
Maria Camila Montalvo-Senior, was chosen as the 2026 ENCATC Research Award Winner for her PhD thesis in "Making Hands with the Earth: Curatorial Proposals from Indigenous Material Practices for Inhabiting the Earth", obtained at the Roma Tre University, Italy.
Montalvo-Senior is an art curator, researcher, writer and university lecturer, currently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow (Horizon Europe) at the University of Granada, Spain. She holds a PhD in Social Anthropology from Universidad Nacional de Colombia (award-winning thesis), a degree in Fine Arts from Universidad de los Andes, and an MA in Curatorial Studies from Bard College, US. Her work connects curatorial practice and collaborative research-creation across Latin America, contributing to debates in cultural policy and management
