ENCATC welcomes new Communication on Strengthening European Identity through Education and Culture
On 5 February, ENCATC published its policy statement to contribute to the discussions on the European Commission's Communication Strengthening European Identity through Education and Culture. In a dynamic context characterised by rapid and profound change and global competition, ENCATC welcomes, among other important actions to take, investment in culture and education as a key strategy to unlock the skills, competences, values and ideas relevant to instilling and sustaining Europe’s resilience.
In its statement, ENCATC applauds the Commission's Communication and at the same time, proposes its key recommendations for three of the Commission's proposals on boosting mobility and facilitate cross-border cooperation, investing in people and their education, and strengthen the sense of European identity and awareness of cultural heritage.
ENCATC is excited to contribute the view point of its members, educators on cultural management and policy in relation to this important message from the Commission and looks forward to more policy developments initiated by the Commission on the quality of Education and Culture playing an influential and vital role in fostering cohesion in Europe.
