ENCATC at the European Parliament: Putting Culture at the Centre of EU Priorities

On the 24th of March, ENCATC contributed to a panel discussion at the European Parliament on how the next EU long-term budget can better support democracy, bringing forward the perspective of cultural management, education, and policy. Alongside civil society organisations, ENCATC highlighted culture’s vital role in strengthening democratic values and fostering inclusive, resilient societies. It also presented its key priorities for the next EU Multiannual Financial Framework, including recognising culture as a core pillar of democracy and sustainability, ensuring dedicated cultural funding across programmes, investing in skills and research, and reinforcing initiatives such as Creative Europe and Erasmus+.
