A Special ENCATC magazine is out

As we step into spring - a season of renewal -  we are pleased to share the ENCATC Magazine – Special Congress Issue, dedicated to our 2025 ENCATC Congress in Barcelona and the wider policy momentum it engaged, in the lead-up to MONDIACULT 2025.

We share it on a meaningful occasion: Ernesto Ottone Ramírez - recipient of ENCATC’s 2025 Award for Outstanding Contribution, celebrated during the Award Ceremony on 15 September 2025 - is concluding his mandate at UNESCO. Established in 2019, this Award honours individuals or institutions whose sustained achievements have advanced cultural education, research, management, and policy, shaping lasting change in our field.

In his contribution to this issue, Ottone captures a truth many cultural professionals recognise from experience: “Cultural diplomacy creates dialogue where politics fails.”

As he steps into his next chapter, we extend our warmest wishes and sincere thanks for his commitment to culture as a force for understanding, inclusion, and peace.

We invite you to read and share this special issue as a continuation of the Barcelona conversations - bringing together insights across policy, practice, and education that can support your work throughout the year.
