ENCATC Magazine - Issue n°13, September 2026

This new issue of ENCATC Magazine, takes Bilbao and the Basque Country as a starting point to examine how culture can contribute to long-term urban, social and environmental change.  Through a series of interviews and articles, the magazine explores the policies, partnerships and cultural institutions behind the city’s transformation, from the regeneration of the Nervión estuary, to the Azkuna Zentroa’s model of participatory cultural practice, and La Perrera’s work with young people, creativity and STEAM skills. It also looks at sustainability in day-to-day cultural management, with insights from the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and Teatro Arriaga,  and asks what conditions artists and cultural professionals need for creative practice to endure. The issue also traces the history of the Czartoryski Museum in Kraków, exploring memory, heritage and cultural exchange across Europe.
