Turkmen Treasures Unveiled: A Journey Through Antique Jewellery, Tapestries, and Textiles

Brussels, Belgium

In collaboration with the Central-Asian European Creative Alliance, ENCATC has organized a cultural soirée which took place at the premises of the Embassy of Turkmenistan. Participants immersed in the Turkmen culture, featuring antique jewellery, tapestries, and textiles, together with a degustation of traditional Central Asian plov (rice’s dish)!

This unique small exhibition was a part of the Civilisations Brussels Art Fair 2025 in the Sablon District and was made in collaboration with Art Studio KESHDE ( Ashgabat) and MUSE Gallery (at Sablon), which showcased the rich heritage of Turkmenistan. It featured a carefully curated collection of antique jewelry, vibrant tapestries, and unique textiles that highlight the timeless craftsmanship of Turkmen artisans, deeply rooted in the history of the Silk Road and celebrated in contemporary contexts. That event offered a rare opportunity to gain insight into the cultural wealth of Turkmenistan, capturing the essence of its enduring artistic traditions from Silk Road’s times until now! Every item of this small exhibition at the Embassy is not merely and simply an artefact, but a living story, reflecting the legacy of ancient Midia, Margiana and Parthia, carrying the essence of centuries of traditions!

In 2025, Turkmenistan celebrated the 30th Anniversary of its Neutrality (recognized by the UN) and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Brussels paid a special attention to the “cultural diplomacy” theme by promoting cultural events as a part of its strategy to highlight the importance of this Neutrality!
