Towards A New Culture Compass For Europe: The Vision of The Cultural Management and Policy Community

In response to the European Commission’s strategic initiative, the Culture Compass for Europe, ENCATC will open a space for dialogue and reflection among its members. The Culture Compass is a new policy tool under development by the EU, designed to bring greater coherence, impact, and long-term vision to Europe’s cultural policies. It aims to guide the EU’s actions in the cultural field across policy areas, foster stronger cross-sectoral coordination, and support Member States in designing more aligned cultural strategies.

As the leading European network on cultural management and policy, ENCATC is actively contributing to this ongoing process. During this session, Experts from the European Commission will go more deeply into details, structure, and strategic objectives of the Culture Compass. ENCATC will present the draft of its Position Paper on the Culture Compass—a document articulating the network’s vision, concerns, and recommendations based on more than three decades of expertise, advocacy, and academic engagement in the cultural sector.
