Publishing Research that Matters: How to Increase the Visibility and Impact of Your Research.
14h00–15h30 CEST - OnlineRicardo Leitão-Gonçalves
Partner Journal Development Manager at Frontiers Publishing Partnerships
Ricardo obtained his Biology degree at the University of Porto. Initially trained in plant science, he did research on molecular physiology of photosynthesis at the MPIZ in Cologne and at the University of Copenhagen. For his doctoral studies Ricardo joined VIB in Belgium. In a joint venture with human geneticists and neurobiologists from the University of Antwerp and KULeuven, he aided to develop the first model to study Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease in Drosophila. Following a strong interest in neurogenetics and behaviour, Ricardo did his postdoctoral work at the Champalimaud Neuroscience Programme in Lisbon. He investigated how single nutrients and commensal bacteria impact the animal physiology and modulate feeding decisions in Drosophila. Afterwards, he was a scientific curator at an Irish biotechnology company.
In 2018 Ricardo joined the Journal Development team for Frontiers in Physiology from where he moved to the Frontiers Publishing Partnerships team in 2022.
