Practical AI for Researchers: Responsible Use in Writing and Publishing

14h00–15h15 CEST - Online

How can researchers use AI responsibly in scholarly writing and publishing? Join the next ENCATC Research Platform meeting on 30 June 2026, from 14:00 to 15:15 CEST, for an open exchange on ethics, transparency, disclosure and academic integrity in the use of AI.

Large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT and Gemini are increasingly present in academic contexts, yet their appropriate use in research and publishing remains unclear for many scholars. Researchers face growing expectations to understand these tools, while also navigating unresolved questions around academic integrity, publisher policies, data protection, and scholarly responsibility.

This seminar will aim to respond to that gap by offering a practical introduction to AI tools, grounded in current publishing practices and ethical considerations.

The meeting will open with a welcome by GiannaLia Cogliandro Beyens, ENCATC Secretary General, followed by a short introduction by Cristina Ortega Nuere, 3Walks and Series Editor of the ENCATC Book Series with Routledge. The main contribution will be delivered by Victoria Corless, Routledge / Taylor & Francis Group, sharing the perspective of a major academic publisher. The session will conclude with a Q&A moderated by Richard Maloney, New York University and Series Editor of the ENCATC Book Series with Routledge
