Objects With Narratives Gallery & Atelier of Nina De Angelis
Brussels, BelgiumDiscovering the new gallery in Sablon
For the last Cultural Happy Hours before the start of the summer break, ENCATC has partnered with the Central Asian European Creative Alliance to bring you to the discovery of Objects With Narratives, formerly "Manufacture de Fourrures Raymond Mallien" and then "Musée des Postes et Télécommunications".
The gallery is a continuation of curated spaces, each having their own unique narrative. At the occasion of this visit we will start our promenade in the famously decorated ballroom where Brussels' bourgeoisie once had their couture wishes tailored. It will serve as a prelude, offering a glimpse into the diverse rooms that await. Adjacent to the ballroom is the re-imagined director's office, seamlessly blending tradition with a contemporary twist and moving beyond, the classical white cube becomes the backdrop for wall pieces, sculptures, and objets d’art. The first floor will unveil an uninterrupted space for dedicated projects, hosting solo and curated exhibitions, while the second floor unfolds as our showroom and polyvalent playground, adapting to the dynamic needs of the art and design community.
To complete this amazing visit, we will discover the atelier of the multidisciplinary artist Nina De Angelis. She chooses Indian ink and movement as her main materials.Timeless Indian ink is the material that best serves the writing of time. Movement is the subject and the main tool of creation. The object of her work is to observe the particular rhythm of the world and nature, in order to extract it, observe it and translate it into his abstract language. Sometimes, she takes painting to performance to develop the dance that the brush teaches her. Other times, she turns to the installation to let the gesture grow to the scale it needs. How can we glimpse the rhythm of time? How to translate it onto the space of the white sheet? How to capture the vibrations of the world around you? Inspired by Rothko and his mystical relationship with Art, Nina De Angelis attempts to elucidate the mysteries of the universe through poetic and pictorial experiences.“Drawing is a game whose rules are invented as you go along".
Organised by ENCATC in partnership with the Creative Europe Desks Vlaanderen. in the framework of the very successful Cultural Happy Hours initiative.
