First Annual Meeting of the ENCATC Think Tank
OnlineThe First Annual Meeting of the ENCATC Think Tank will mark an important milestone in ENCATC’s efforts to foster cross-sectoral dialogue and knowledge exchange at the intersection of research, cultural policy, and practice.
Established in 2020, the ENCATC Think Tank brings together representatives from European cultural networks, international institutions, academia, and the professional cultural sector. Its mission is to generate evidence-based insights and collaborative outputs that inform multi-level cultural policy development—from the local to the international level.
The 2025 meeting will feature the presentation of the NEMO Barometer on Political Influence on Museums in Europe, offering timely data and analysis on the state of institutional autonomy across the continent. The event will also serve as the launchpad for two newly established Focus Groups for the 2025–2026 period:
-
The Arts Market Today – led by Anne-Sophie V. Radermecker, Associate Professor, Université libre de Bruxelles
-
Towards a Unified Framework for Statistics and Indicators for the Cultural and Creative Sectors – co-led by Cristina Ortega, Director, 3Walks, and Elena Raevskikh, Research & Analysis Unit Head, Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi
These Focus Groups will gather ENCATC members and invited observers to collaboratively explore pressing challenges and opportunities in their respective fields. Outcomes will include a Policy Tracker, annual scientific articles, and potentially a joint publication in the ENCATC-Routledge book series.
By fostering dialogue between research, policy, and practice, the Think Tank affirms ENCATC’s commitment to building a more cohesive, innovative, and evidence-informed cultural policy landscape.
