In this edition of the ENCATC Talks, we featured the launch of Carlotta Scioldo’s book, winner of the ENCATC Research Award 2023, "European Networks and Cultural Governance: How Culture Makes Policy". This compelling work explores the transformative role of cultural networks within the European Union (EU) over the past three decades, particularly within the cultural and creative sectors. Through a blend of institutional and ethnographic analysis, the book sheds light on how informal collaborations have evolved into structured entities, reshaping EU cultural governance and fostering cross-border cooperation among cultural professionals. This Talk also featured a discussion with leading experts in cultural policy and management that allowed attendees to have the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking discussions and reflect on the role of cultural networks.
