Andrew Manning is Currently the Director of EUNIC, the network of European Union National Institutes for Culture.  EUNIC brings together 38 members across all EU member states as well as a global network of 136 EUNIC clusters around the world were EUNIC members engage in locally driven collaborative projects.  Anchored in the cultural relations approach, EUNIC’s mission is to build trust and understanding between the peoples of Europe and the rest of the world through culture, and to make culture count in international relations.  Since 2017 EUNIC has been an official partner to the EU in the field of Culture in External Relations.  Recent research and actions of the EUNIC network includes on topics such as the role of cultural relations in building peace and stability, in sustainable development, in freedom of artistic expression and in striving for equitable fair collaboration.

Prior to EUNIC Andrew was the Secretary General of the European Concert Hall Organisation and International Advisor for the Nordic Region at BOZAR in Brussels.  Previous experience also includes being the Head of Arts of the British Council in France, as well as roles within the British Council in Brussels and the BBC in London.  A dual British-Belgian Citizen based in Brussels for over the past decade working on European cultural cooperation and cultural relations, Andrew has a degree in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford and is a member of the Governance Committee of the International Society for the Performing Arts.
