Cultural Heritage and Crisis - 2nd Meeting

12h00 (CEST)

The ENCATC Congress 2025, taking place in Barcelona just ahead of the MONDIACULT World Conference, provides a vital platform for advancing global dialogue on culture’s role in sustainable and regenerative futures.

As part of this unique international gathering, ENCATC has set up and launched Focus Groups aligned with the 2025 Mondiacult priorities on March 6. The ENCATC Focus Groups offer a dynamic opportunity to co-produce knowledge and collaboratively contribute to cultural policy development.

Each Focus Group, chaired by an ENCATC Board Member, will produce concrete recommendations to feed into the Mondiacult Digital Library and the 2025 MONDIACULT Conference, making your input part of a global policy-shaping process. These groups are more than meetings: they are spaces for learning, critical dialogue, and advancing personal and institutional knowledge on key cultural priorities. The Focus Groups will work both online and in person in Barcelona.

The Focus Group on Cultural Heritage and Crisis stems from the premise that, in light of escalating crises, it has become increasingly important to develop protection, preparedness, and recovery strategies in the cultural sector, recognizing the impact of these threats on the realization of cultural rights. Actions must be taken to safeguard heritage, as well as cultural expressions, especially during extreme climate events and natural disasters.
