Bård Kleppe is a Research Professor at Telemark Research Institute, specializing in cultural and creative industries, cultural policy, cultural statistics, and cultural sociology. He has led numerous studies, evaluations, and research projects on cultural production, creative work, cultural dissemination, cultural heritage, the music industry, and cultural consumption and participation.

For over 15 years, he has provided cultural statistics to municipalities and counties, and has also been involved in international projects and networks. Methodologically, his work combines both qualitative and quantitative approaches
