Canciones de Sefarad – Annual Concert of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation

Brussels, Belgium

For our second December ENCATC Cultural Happy Hour, ENCATC has partnered with its member the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, who has generously offered our Cultural Happy Hours community access to an exceptional evening celebrating musical heritage.

The International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation presents “Canciones de Sefarad”, a musical journey into the rich legacy of Sephardic culture. Blending melodies from the Spanish diaspora with traditional Judeo-Spanish festive and religious songs, the programme highlights centuries of cultural coexistence and dialogue.

The concert features the Sephardic Early Music Sextet, directed by Eduardo Paniagua, a leading figure in the revival of early music in Spain. Performing with faithful reproductions of historical instruments, the ensemble brings to life the soundscape of medieval Spain through suites of love songs, liturgical pieces, and traditional melodies from Sephardic communities across the Maghreb, the Middle East, and the Balkans.

The evening will open with remarks from high-level keynote speakers and will be followed by an ENCATC Cultural Happy Hour, offering participants a convivial networking moment after the performance.

Join us for an exceptional event honouring the living legacy of Sephardic music and the timeless values of cultural diversity and exchange.
