As a pre-programme to the ENCATC Annual Congress, on 10 October 2023, participants will have the opportunity to explore Helsinki's key cultural institutions and get acquainted with other participants and ENCATC members. This 10th edition of the ENCATC International Study Tour will continue its tradition to bring participants a once in a lifetime educational experience into the heart of leading arts, cultural and education institutions. The focus of this year will be environmental sustainability in the cultural and creative sectors.

Helsinki has a rich history and a diverse range of museums, galleries, and cultural events. Attendees will be able to experience the city and its unique Nordic lifestyle, profit of a behind-the-scenes experience, revealing perspectives and insight into the day-to-day management of Finnish arts and cultural institutions.

The International Study Tour's intense interactive programme includes lectures, study visits to inspiring cultural venues and lively discussions led by experts in the field to create a unique experience to learn about arts and cultural management and policies in Finland.

Moreover, participating educators, researchers, creators, young and senior cultural professionals, artists, and decision makers will take part in international exchanges of ideas, projects, and best practice among academics, scholars, cultural entrepreneurs and administrators from Europe and beyond. The framework of activity is ideal to create ties and promote cooperation among European higher education and cultural institutions.

The organiser of this event is ENCATC, the European network on cultural management and policy. It is done in partnership with the University of Jyväskylä.
