The ENCATC Nordic-Baltic Platform was officially launched in Vilnius in 1999 thanks to the support of the Nordic Cultural Fund. Besides the objective to contribute to knowledge transfer, competence and capacity building, employability and enhanced professionalization, the Platform aimed to create synergy between people, projects and institutions. The Platform involved Nordic, as well as European experts and contributors in its training sessions with the aim to encourage interaction and collaboration on three levels: co-operation between Nordic countries, between Nordic and Baltic countries: between Nordic and other European countries. Its guiding principle was to strengthen the knowledge and know-how of those professionally involved in the arts and culture and to promote their interaction and networking across geographical borders. The Nordic-Baltic Platform was the only contact point in Northern Europe that provided this type of information and support on Nordic level to cultural administrators, managers and other interested in arts management training. One of the most important projects designed and implemented by the platform was Synaxis Baltica (2001-2005): click here to read the report of the project.
The Nordic Baltic platform, after a period of inactivity, was re-launched again on the 23rd of January 2025 with the objective to continue to its aim to encourage interaction and collaboration on three levels: co-operation between Nordic countries, between Nordic and Baltic countries: between Nordic and other European countries.
