MONDIACULT 2025: Our commitment to the conference on global cultural policy
ENCATC was a key actor at the 2025 World Conference on Cultural Policies and Sustainable Development, MONDIACULT. Our policy recommendations to the global cultural policy community will result in a final position paper.
As well as the position paper, Encatc positioned as a key actor at the cultural policy conference with a variety of initiatives:
- We organized six focus groups aligned with the MONDIACULT priorities to advance knowledge sharing and collaboratively contribute to the conference;
- We were the co-organizers of one side event during the Conference in Barcelona, where we explored how culture and education can empower communities to respond to the multiple crises shaping our world;
- We dedicated three ENCATC Talks to MONDIACULT, introducing the conference and the outcomes of our dedicated focus groups;
- We devoted one meeting of our Think Tank to MONDIACULT, expressing insights and outcomes after the global conference.

Our input towards the Culture Compass for Europe
The Culture Compass for Europe, a new strategic framework launched in 2025 by the European Commission, represents an important opportunity to embed culture at the heart of EU policymaking. ENCATC published a new position paper on the Compass articulating our network’s vision, concerns, and recommendations based on more than three decades of expertise, advocacy, and academic engagement in the cultural sector:
